Mr. Mohim Hassan
joined the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors since its inception. As a leading industrialist, Mr. Hassan has 14 years of experience in manufacturing and trading in garments and apparel sector. As an expert in corporate management he leads business management in a number of premier garments manufacturing companies. Mr. Hassan earned an MSS degree prior to joining Northern Group as Managing Director in 1994. Concurrently he has been holding top management positions in several companies.

Naim Hassan
joined the company as a Director since its inception. As an industrialist and corporate management specialist, Mr. Hassan has experience in manufacturing and trading in garments and apparel sector. He is involved in the management of several garments manufacturing companies. Concurrently he is the Managing Director Fashion Asia and Tosrifa Industries, and a Director of Northern Corporation. Mr. Hassan earned his BSS (Hons) and MSS degrees in 1994.

Rafiq Hassan
joined the company as the Managing Director bringing experience and skill in corporate management and market development. A management specialist by training, with a B BA from Assumption University, Thailand Mr. Rafiq Hassan has had held management positions and led business development in several industrial and marketing units of Northern Group of Companies. He is the Managing Director of the Total Freight, a leading transport company in Bangladesh.

Md. Matiar Rahman
Director (Operations)
With extensive experience in agricultural extension and human resource development activities in public and private sectors, and in international organizations, Dr. Md. Matiar Rahman founded and joined Northern Seeds as the Director (Operations) in early 2007.Dr. Md. Matiar Rahman had held various management positions with responsibilities of capacity building for improving human resources in the Department of Agriculture Extension and improving farmers’ skill and knowledge in order for them to stay active in the knowledge-based agriculture. As an expert in training in the World Fish Center he developed training strategy and plans, and also prepared several training manuals. As a prolific writer Dr. Rahman has written and edited as many as 100 standard text books and manuals for Secondary, Higher Secondary, and tertiary professional levels. He earned M.Sc.Ag. and PhD degrees in Agricultural Extension & Education from Bangladesh Agricultural University and an MS in Plant Protection from Reading University, UK.

Md. Ali Akbar
Dr Akbar who joined the company as a Consultant has been engaged in R&D activities. Previously he led the breeding research on oilseed crops in the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute since he completed his PhD at Swedish Agricultural University, Uppsala. At BARI he conducted pioneering breeding research leading to development and adaptation of synthetic rapeseed varieties through integration of Brassica napus and B. campestris. His research on molecular plant breeding earned reputation across disciplines.

Abdul Hamid
As an Adviser, Dr. Abdul Hamid is engaged in directing multiple aspects of research and planning activities of the company. Concurrently he is actively involved in research, teaching and development on aspects of agronomy and seed technology at the BSMRAU. Led a number of multi-organization, multi-country research and development projects on diverse disciplines including cropping systems, variety development, crop management, participatory research and extension of pulses, global climate change; and impact assessment of cotton IPM. He earned a Ph.D. in Agronomy from Kansas State University, an MS and BS with honors in Agronomy from Bangladesh Agricultural University.

Md. Abdul Khaleque Mian
Dr. Md. Abdul Khaleque Mian joined the company as an Adviser in early 2007. He is involved in directing research and development activities in breeding crop varieties, stock seed management and utilization, and seed production. Concurrently, Professor Mian is involved in teaching and research on genetics and plant breeding in the BSMRAU. Has been engaged in breeding research for over 33 years, and developed and released several varieties of vegetable crops.
